Hi! My name is Yves Lubanda and I’m a Photographer from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I’m currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa and have a Degree in Information Technology from the University of Johannesburg.
I’ve always had a love for Photography while growing up and it intensified when I got my hands on my first DSLR, a Canon 800D back in 2018. Back then I started capturing just about everything around me and in the process, I discovered and fell in love with Macro Photography which is my specialty. In 2019, I decided to gain some knowledge on different types of photography and applied for some short Photography courses at the College of Digital Photography based in Saxonwold Johannesburg.
In February 2019, I started my first course the Fundamentals of Digital Photography as a part-time course (Saturdays only) for the whole month. At the end of that course, I received a Certificate. Next up in May of the same year I did my second course which was Advanced Photography. It was once again a part-time course and I received a certificate at the end of that course as well. At this point my passion for photography had skyrocketed and I wanted more. Fortunately for me there was an intensive six-month course on offer at the same college and it was a no-brainer! And so, I started that course at the beginning of July 2019 and finished it at the end of the month of November. That six-month course literally changed my life as I learnt so much about Photography. In fact, all types of Photography ranging from Studio, Outdoor, Macro, Flash, Food, Wedding, Photojournalism, People, Movement, Still Life and Painting with Light. Like I said It changed my life and I met such wonderful and amazing people.
Here I am now still on this Photography journey and still learning. This is my website and so come and join me as I will be showcasing all that I’ve learned about Photography so far. Please do have a look at my Portfolio and let me know what you think! I’m available on Instagram and Facebook as well. Cheers! 😉
